Residence II
Brussel, Belgium
2022 - 2023

At one of the most prominent locations in Oudergem, Brussels, a new residential complex is being built on an existing school building: Ice Top: an urban sculpture with a cosmopolitan appearance. The new residential complex, consisting of two buildings, has 10 studios, a meeting room and a public rooftop park.
The characteristic iceberg sculpture is visible from afar above the urban buildings. The layout is characterized by an ice crack that cleaves the plan. This crack extends from the icebergs to the beautifully designed green outdoor space. In the park people can meet each other, relax and exercise. The 180 degree spacious roof terrace offers a phenomenal view of Brussels. The meeting space is transparent in design and invites users to enter. In the studios, the predominantly wooden interior gives a wonderfully warm, comfortable feeling. All studios have a private terrace. Some types have a split level layout, the ridge-high glass facade allows the daylight to penetrate deeply into the rooms.

"The design is inspired by the magical icebergs and ice cracks of Antarctica."
