Analysis Tadao Ando
Tadao Ando, the acclaimed Japanese architect known for his minimalist approach to architecture, is a master at blending traditional Japanese design elements with modernism. His designs are often characterized by simple geometric shapes, clean lines and a well-thought-out integration of natural light and shadows. From Ando's extensive portfolio, we have carefully made a selection that is most faithful to his vision. This resulted in a 2.5D synthesis, in which the already chosen projects, including the Koshino House, the Church of the Light, the Church on the Water and the ChiChu Art Museum, have been brought together in a special way. The synthesis has the shape of a square divided into four sections by a cross of light. Each box simply embodies the formal language of Ando's projects. Like a playful Japanese game, a rolling ball guides you through the different projects, with each section revealing a new facet of Ando's mastery.
